Lift Kits
Suspension work from a shop that also builds the driveline underneath it. We will make the vehicle look great, and make sure the drivetrain still works at the new height.
What it is
The lift is the easy part.
We do not only perfect the mechanical functionality of the vehicle’s drivetrain, we make it look great while doing it.
We start by ordering the lift to your preference and the vehicle’s specifications, unless you supply the parts for the job. Then we get to work. The technician removes the current suspension components and installs the new springs, control arms, shocks, brackets, spacers and anything else included with the kit.
Installing a lift kit usually involves more than the lift components themselves. Depending on the vehicle and the type or height of the lift, that can mean replacing sway-bar links, bump stops, driveshafts or steering components, and in some cases adjusting differential angles when the new height binds the CV and pinion angles past their safe limits. That last one is why it helps that the driveline shop and the suspension shop are the same shop.
- Springs
- Control arms
- Shocks
- Brackets
- Spacers
- Whatever else the kit includes
- Year, make, model and engine
- Lift height you want, and the kit if you already have it
- Tire size you plan to run
- Whether you tow, crawl or mostly drive it on the road
Not sure about any of it? Ring the shop and we will walk you through it.
What a lift usually drags in with it.
How much of this applies depends on the vehicle and on the height you are going to. We will tell you before we start, not after.
- Sway-bar links
- Bump stops
- Driveshafts, when the length or the angle changes
- Steering components
- Differential angles, when the height binds the CV and pinion past their safe limits
After the install
Before you get it back.
Inspect
Suspension, steering and drivetrain checked over: properly secured, and enough clearance everywhere it matters.
Tires and alignment
Most people want bigger tires with a lift. We can order them or fit the ones you supply, then the vehicle goes to a local shop for alignment and for the tires to be mounted and balanced.
Test drive
Final inspections and a road test, so what you collect is a comfortable, safe ride.
Send us your measurements. We’ll send back a number.
Driveshaft repair estimates are free. No obligation, no run-around.
