A significant amount of work, and a remarkable difference at the end of it. The body comes off the frame and a new, refurbished or replacement tub goes on.
What it is
Body off, then back on to a sound frame.
A tub swap takes a significant amount of work, but the final result is a remarkable difference. The job involves removing the existing body tub from the frame and replacing it with a different one, new, refurbished or a replacement.
Once the old tub is off, the replacement is positioned and fitted to the chassis, with attention to body alignment, mounting locations, panel gaps and proper fitment of every component.
After everything has been torqued, reconnected and reinstalled, we do a final inspection to make sure it is all functioning as it should and properly secured.

- Wiring disconnected and routed clear
- Fuel system components removed
- Body mounts released
- Doors and fenders off
- Anything else attached or in the way
- Tub positioned and fitted to the chassis
- Body alignment checked
- Mounting locations checked
- Panel gaps checked
- Every component fitted properly
- Torqued, reconnected, reinstalled, inspected

Is it worth it versus buying another Jeep?
Sometimes and sometimes not, and we will tell you which. If the tub is rough as well as the frame, we will say so rather than take the job.
What else should I do while it is off?
Body mounts, fuel and brake lines and anything rusted are the obvious ones. It is far cheaper now than later. We will walk the vehicle with you before we start.
